A Message from Head Teacher,
Mrs Elaine Dodsworth
WELCOME TO ST CUTHBERTS RC PRIMARY SCHOOL
St. Cuthbert’s RC Primary School offers a warm and friendly environment for both children and parents and it fosters a caring atmosphere for all who attend or visit the school.
St. Cuthbert’s is a school that our children, staff, parents, governors and parishioners are proud of and together we ‘Delight in the Good’ and aim to provide the children with a firm foundation for the future.
I believe, as the headteacher of a Catholic school, that it is important to achieve the dual role of responsibility that is placed upon us. We would be failing the children if we achieved high academic standards but neglected the faith aspect of our school community.
Equally, we would be negligent in providing a good religious basis and disregarding our academic commitment. St. Cuthbert’s strives to achieve its aims through a good partnership between governors, staff, children, parents and parish.
We hope this will be the beginning of a long and successful partnership where you will take a close interest in what your child is doing in school and encourage learning and its importance in later life.
Our website should provide you with enough information to give you a flavour of what our school is like, what we do and how we do it.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school.

A Message from Our Parish Priest, Fr. John Cooper
When a child is baptised into the community of the parish of St Cuthbert, Stockton, they are welcomed into God’s family. Baptism is the start of their life in the Church and the Church offers to support the parents in helping their child to grow in the practice of the faith. This responsibility primarily belongs to the parents, and indeed parents promise during the baptism ceremony to “encourage our child to keep God’s commandments as Jesus has taught us”.
St Cuthbert’s school is one of the ways that the parish community supports parents in this responsibility. Your child will come to our school in order to receive the benefit of this support in their academic, social and spiritual lives. We hope that each child will come to fulfil their potential and enjoy their time with us.
Where places are available, the Catholic community welcomes children of other faiths into our school. If your child is not baptised Catholic, we hope that you will know that they are an integral part of our school and wider Catholic Community, and will take a full and active part in all aspects of live within the school.
We welcome you and your child to our school and know that it will be a happy and fulfilling time for us all.
